Suburban Body Shop has been providing quality body and paint work for our customers
at our original location in Merriam, Kansas since 1963. For many years we took in
restoration work "on the side" when we had extra space and extra time. In 1996 we
expanded one of our buildings to accommodate some of our own restoration and street
rod projects.

Though we didn't advertise it, the word quickly spread that we were in the restoration
and street rod business. Our own projects were shoved aside to make room for our
customers' projects! Suburban Rod & Custom Classics was born. The ever-increasing
interest in street rods, custom-built cars, and restored antiques has created a demand
for shops, like ours, that specialize in building these machines from the ground up.

Over the past ten years our reputation for high quality restorations and custom built
street rods has overshadowed our forty-plus years of quality collision work. Collision
work is now scheduled "on the side" for friends, family, and long-time customers only.

Our hot rod shop, mechanic shop, and paint shop encompass over 10,000 square feet. Our
office is decorated with lots of interesting hot rod memorabilia and the "Wall of Fame"
has now become "Walls of Fame". Our walls are nearly completely covered with awards,
magazine articles, and photos of our work.

We've spent years assembling a team of the finest technicians in the area. Our success
is due to the fact that each of our technicians takes a tremendous amount of pride in
the work that he does. Each has his own area of expertise and they work very well
together, as a team, to produce street rods and restos that we, and our customers, are
very proud of. You'll hear the guys say "we built this car" or "this is one of our cars".

Whether your preference is restored original, resto-rod, rat rod, mild or radical
custom, we can do it. We use only the best quality parts and the latest technology
available.

We will build a vehicle to your specifications - steel or fiberglass body, body modifications,
new frame, air-ride suspension, power steering, power brakes, power windows, air conditioning,
digital gauges, engine choice, custom interior, custom paint. You decide – we'll build it.

We also "rebuild" and restore vehicles - there are still a lot of good old cars and trucks
around that just need some care and attention, and maybe a little bit of modernization like
good brakes and steering.

We offer design assistance, we can provide you with a detailed insurance appraisal, and we
can help with titling issues. We have a long list of very satisfied customers and will be
happy to provide to you that list of references.

We invite you to take a tour through our website and to revisit it frequently. We always
have vehicles for sale, a barn full of potential street rods, and a photo gallery of vehicles
we've built or restored for our customers. We also invite you to call to schedule a tour
of the shop – you'll see a variety of projects in various stages of completion.
